With a Regina City Council meeting coming up on May 2, 2025 to discuss the future of drinking water fluoridation in that city, we asked Regina residents their thoughts on the issue.
Fluoride is not currently added to drinking water in Regina, but their City Council approved its use in 2021, pending upgrades to the Buffalo Pound water treatment plant. After the most recent civic election, the fluoride issue was placed back on the Council agenda by a new member of Council, but by a large margin, Regina residents back the plan passed four years ago. 52% of respondents support adding fluoride to drinking water and 31% do not. 17% of people responded that they are unsure about the issue or don’t have an opinion.
